Re: mission accomplished, wonder how many innocents died today

Note to GWB:

Never mind this stuff. Just do the job. It is irrelevant whether I, or anyone else not in the presence of the job and without the information you have likes the way you are doing it. Just do it.

Note to rodbolt:

I agree that the media is preoccupied with any "news" that upsets people, but that is one of the downsides of freedom of the press. I don't recall the media supporting any administration since FDR.

I have no idea who/what the school or Blackwater, Inc are. We are all ignorant about some things, including rodbolt. My President knows a lot of things we don't, and he will never tell. We (maybe not you) elected him to do a job. Let him do it. Constant carping and cheap shotting does nothing to help get the job done.

No issue with fact, Im just sick of all the whining from BOTH sides. If we didnt go to Iraq, the rape, tourture and oppression of the Iraqi people would have continued, as well as the potential threat to the US. I suppose that all the naysayers would rather that the opression of the Iraqi's continue? I think that they are better off without Saddam in power, would you disagree? Have we conducted this war in a perfect fashion? No, but what war ever has been? None. Innocent people WILL DIE. Period. Sad? Yeah, but thats how it is.

Im all for human rights and all, but Im getting to the point of I dont really care. Im almost thinking that we should have kept our nose out of Saddams buisiness, but, kept him in our cross hairs with our finger on the trigger, ready to put a hole in his head the second he looked like he was about to do something stupid. Would have saved American lives, and alot of my tax dollars.

How about this. Lets get out of Iraq, release Saddam, and let him take back over his country. Since he wasnt doing anything wrong anyway, what would it hurt? I mean he had no WMD's, no ties to the 911 attacks, and no ties to terrorism. Why not let him take his country back? That would give the libs what they want, right? Since it was a war based on lies and misinformation, I see no harm in returning him to power.

What say ye?

Rodbolt,

I am sorry about your belief that all things are oil related. Please draw the line between the current administration and the bloggers conspiracy theroies regarding the oil companies. I am sure they are out there, but none of the them make any sense at all. I am listening but where are the connections? Don't be afraid of victory even if it supports a position you are opposed to? Help us understand your position.

Bush's position is a tough stand.
Stand up and be accounted for. Or BE QUIET.

A little whimper might be more to your liking.

Tell ya what Rod- I'm 31, way overweight, poor vision and hearing, 2 YOUNG children at home, numerous livestock that depend on me, a disabled mother and almost disabled father, and lots of family responsibilities that I haven't listed. My job in the prison is also vital to the security to the state and the country. That said, if'in ol George decides its time for me to go bomb some sorry azz country would you mind giving me a ride to the airport?

Get real or get over it and step away from whatever is bugging you guy. I almost always disagree with your way of thinking but you can usually justify the thoughts. Your a little past the point this time.

Rodbolt,I'll stay out of this. But I do know what the school of the Americas is and Blackwater is familiar as well.
Your anger is justified but the way you express it now, serves little purpose beyond blowing off some steam.

I think you are referring to my comment POINTER.

I am making a remark re Rodbolts original comment.

Perhaps it is not as clear as I had intended.
If Bush has something to say he gets to the point. Or he keeps it to himself.

Blackwater:
Blackwater USA is the most comprehensive professional military, law enforcement, security, peacekeeping, and stability operations company in the world.

We have established a global presence and provide training and operational solutions for the 21st century in support of security and peace, and freedom and democracy everywhere.

We customize and execute solutions for our clients to help keep them at the level of readiness required to meet today's military, law enforcement, peacekeeping, and stability operations challenges. We continually prove to be faster, better, cheaper, and more efficient and effective than conventionally managed forces.

Our customers include local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies, the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, and most other federal agencies, multi-national corporations, non-governmental organizations, and friendly nations from around the world.

Whether you require training, operational, or policy solutions, Blackwater can help you develop the right program for you to ensure success.

We specialize in, but are not limited to:

* Basic and Advanced Law Enforcement and Military Training

* Design and Operation of Law Enforcement, Counterterrorism, and Military Training Facilities

* Counterterrorism, Antiterrorism, and Force Protection
Programs

* Humanitarian, Peacekeeping, and Stability Operations

* Military Transformation Programs

* High-threat Security Operations (Ambassadors, Generals, CEOs, etc.)

* High-value Asset Security and Threat Assessment

* Fixed and Rotary-wing Aviation Operations and Logistics Programs

* Training Doctrine and Policy Development

* Foreign Internal Defense Missions

School of Americas - Closed December 15, 2000:
School of the Americas/
School of Assassins, USA

The School of the Americas

World War II was the "good war". After that conflict, most Americans believed that US intentions in the world were noble -- the US was the punisher of aggression and a warrior for freedom. This image was for generations of Americans the measure by which they judged their country in world affairs. The war in Vietnam ended the illusion that America was always on the "right side". Today, America's image as a defender of democracy and justice has been further eroded by the School of the Americas (SOA), which trains Latin American and Caribbean military officers and soldiers to subvert democracy and kill hope in their own countries.

Founded by the United States in 1946, the SOA was initially located in Panama, but in 1984 it was kicked out under the terms of the Panama Canal Treaty and moved to the army base at Fort Benning, Georgia. Then-President of Panama Jorge Illueca called it "the biggest base for de-stabilization in Latin America," and a major Panamanian newspaper dubbed it " The School of Assassins."

Today, SOA instructors and students are recruited from the cream of the Latin American military establishment. The School trains 700-2,000 soldiers a year, and since its inception in 1946, more than 60,000 military personnel have graduated from the SOA.

If the SOA concentrated its training on protecting country borders from foreign aggression or safeguarding citizens from invasion by outside enemies, it would be considered an exemplary institution, worth the cost of American tax dollars and US prestige. But, the SOA has very different goals. Its curriculum includes courses in psychological warfare, counterinsurgency, interrogation techniques, and infantry and commando tactics. Presented with the most sophisticated and up-to-date techniques by the US Army's best instructors, these courses teach military officers and soldiers of Third World countries to subvert the truth, to muzzle union leaders, activist clergy, and journalists, and to make war on their own people. It prepares them to subdue the voices of dissent and to make protesters submit. It instructs them in techniques of marginalizing the poor, the hungry, and the dispossessed. It tells them how to stamp out freedom and terrorize their own citizens. It trains them to destroy the hope of democracy.

The School of the Americas (SOA) has been given other names -- "School for Dictators", "School of Assassins", and "Nursery of Death Squads". And, countries with the worst human rights records send the most soldiers to the School.

Re: mission accomplished, wonder how many innocents died today

Rodbolt, I think everyone is trying to say that your incoherent posts are not helping your credibility.

Are you upset the USA has trained its own terrorists?

Do you believe that the USA should be perfect? Do you really think the USA can stop all human rights violations?

Do you think it would be better to be perfect and lose, or bend the rules a little and win?

Do you realize that when you bend the rules a little, there will be problems from that, but those problems are minor compared to losing?

Do you really think your life would have been any better in Venezeula?

Why do you think so many people wait years and risk their lives to come to the terrorist/human rights violating USA? Perhaps our violations are much smaller than those third world countries?

Ken
