mist and exaust coming out of pee hole

i had just recently bought a 1982 johnson 15hp from a guy. he said it was his grandpas and hasent run in years. i started and was wondering why there is no water comming out of the pee hole. please help i am worried if i run it for to long the is going to fry.

Do not run the motor any longer...you'll fry it! It sounds like your water pump has failed and is no longer cooling the motor. Get a manual and replace the impeller...it's a pretty easy job.

And make sure the pee-hole outlet is not clogged. Remove the hose anb low through it. Bugs like to build homes in there.

The impeller should be replaced every 3 - 5 years (depending on use) regardless of it's visual condition. I think you need to do that for starters. The only other thing I would add at this point is you need to make sure the water level in your barrel is well up the leg, the higher the better. Many times the only reason it won't pump water is the level is too low. Try to get an OMC factory service manual for your hp and year. Either Johnson or Evinrude will work fine. Best of luck. Rick.
