Mixed gas shelf life

I drained my busted gas tank last Fall, around November, and stored fuel in 5 gal fuel cans. This fuel is already mixed, 50:1. It's basically been sitting since then and I got my new tank installed and am ready to test it. Is this gas still good? Do I need to do anything with it before I use it?
Thanks.

Mix it about half and half with new gas and you'll be fine.

Regular gas has a shelf life of at least 1 year
stored properly and in a normal environment out
of the sun. At season end I top up my fuel tank
on my boat and store till following season usually
around 7 to 8 months depending on how long winter
lasts. And no I dont have to add fuel stabilizer
for that short a period.

I'll actually agree on this one! 7-8 months isn't that old if you dilute it with new gas. If it was stored in metal containers in a damp garage, you might have a little H2o condensation though. If you've got a water separator on your rig you'll be set.

It was stored in those red plastic gastanks that you buy at walmart. Then they were put outside beside a creek under the bushes. SO they've been through extreme heat(95deg) and cold(20deg).
thanks for the suggestions. I don't know if I'll use it to run my boat, but I'd like to use it to check my hose seals and bring the engine out of hibernation.

My experience with gas storage without fuel stabilizer has not been good. I have never missed getting it in the boat fuel, but I have forgotten to use it on a lawn mower, a snow blower and a motorcycle. In all three instances, I had to remove and clean the carburetors when I put the motors back in service.
Maybe if it is in a storage can you will be O.K., but if you leave fuel without a stabilizer in a carburetor, IMO, you are asking for trouble.

I don't think its such a good idea to put old mixed gas that has oil in it into a car or truck. lol

Why don't you think so.
He could always pour it on some thing.
If it wasn't kept out doors in the sun light he
could just put it back in the motor.
It takes a lot longer than 8 mths to make gas go
bad. The refiners who make gasoline say its pretty
much the same when produced as it is at 1 year old.
And it most certainly will not harm your auto's
engine, sensors or emission system.
Maybe he should set up his own slightly used
gasoline sale.

For the last 30+ yrs I've always had a couple of small kickers that sit 6-18 mos or so in between use...and never used stabilizer. They used to have plugged carbs after a year or so, then I quit running the carbs dry before storage and that problem ceased. I'm in florida, maybe the fuel is blended different for our climes.

You all can do as you wish, but for the last 30 years I have used Stabil with no problems. Gas that will sit more than 6 months should be stabiled as its CHEAP...cheaper than a carb clean. I have 18 different seasonal motors at the dogpatch, and its the only way for me. And the gas made now is just short of garbage. And on premix, add the old stuff about 1 gallon to 10 in the old truck or give it away to some kid
