Mixed up wires Merc 3,0L

Hi<br />I had my wiring harnes off my merc 3,0L, for cleaning and inspection, I thought I had everything in order for reassambling, but no Im not sure about the red and the yellow wire that goes to the starter solenoid, which one should be left or right.(When looking at engine from front)<br />Can somebody help?<br />Regards<br />Affa

hello<br /> Dude affa<br /> how ya been<br /> anyway the yellow/red tracer goes to the terminal marked S. usually on the inboard side. the R terminal if it uses points should be purple. <br /> good luck and lets get to boating

hello again <br /> also if your talking about the slave solinoid on the bracket the red 10 gauge wire with a 1/4" terminal and yellow/red tracer wire with a 1/4" ternminal. it does not matter which side they go on. its a on/off switch.<br /> post me back if ya need more.<br />good luck and keep posting

Hi<br />Thankyou Rodbolt!<br />It was the solenoid on the bracket I ment, good thing they could go both ways.<br />I get my new engine soon, then I can start installing cooling system and the electronic equipment.<br />Because of the temperature here I usually dont start boating before May, I guess Ill be done till then.<br />Thanks again!<br />Affa
