Can anyone tell me why I can not find my 1996-90hp Johnson outboard model "J90TLEDA" on the value guide web site NADA.com? They list model numbers "J90ELED and J90SLED", but not the 90"T".

Any comments would be appreciated.

Re: Model Number Mistery

It should be the same as the J90ELED

The EL means remote elecrtic start, long shaft, which came with tilt and trim according to the NADA site.

The TL means tilt and trim-electric start, long shaft.

So EL and TL look to be the same to me. ?

TEL would be a tiller model-electric start, longshaft.

Re: Model Number Mistery

Thanks roscoe, so if I am understanding the model number nomenclature correctly; "J90"=Johnson 90hp, "TL"=Tilt&Trim&Electric start, "ED"=manufacture year 1996.

Can you elaborate more on the meaning of "remote" in the "EL" model? Does this mean you can start it with a key at the pilot chair or wireless start from the house?

Any clue as to the ending "A"? Just curious now.

Thanks for your time.

kp1441

Go HERE and click on Modellguide, then click on Johnson & Evinrude
1980-1998. This should explain it,
