I have an Evinrude Intruder 175 Hp V6 outboard , Spitfire Series. Its Serial number is G3163364 (0r 63163364?) but it has lost its Model No. I need the model number (or at least the model year) to get the proper repair and parts handbook. How can I get the Model No? Can I get what I need without it?

Both numbers may be stamped into a welsh plug on the top of the engine.

Re: Model number of my outboard engine

I suppose the Welsh plug is a round metalic plug about inch in diameter. There is were I read the G3163364 number, which I take it to be the serial number. I have look all over for the Model Number which I assume starts with e175... (Evinrude 175 HP)without succes. I was hoping somewhere there is a table of correspondance between models and serial numbers.
If I could get at least the year of manufacture (I bought it used). What should I look for to identify the model year?

ronwp

Get your dealer to call Bombardier, they can tell you what it is. You could narrow it down by describing some components but many were the same for several years. You may be able to call the customer service line and find out yourself. Look on their website for the phone number.
