Hi all,
I am in the process of debating if I should buy an old boat with a view of changing the configuration of it a bit. I was thinking something along the lines of a 1990 Sea Ray 340. If it is possible to get one that is mechanically sound how difficult would it be to change the layout of the stern section of the boat? By that I mean putting in a sundeck made from scratch.
I happen to live in a place that is sunny the entire year round and the boat would NOT be used for cruising or overnight trips, mainly just for taking out friends and family and chilling out off the coast. Even the cabin would hardly be used.
Basically I am looking to create a very large deck boat form a donor boat however I do not know if it is a crazy idea or not as there appears to be good value in older boats that are in need of a modern twist!
Any advice you can give me I will appreciate.
All the best,
Zaq.
