I am about to buy a 91' sunsetter with a tower and racks. This is my first boat but I have modified over 20 cars. I don't know where to begin to figure out what can be done to it. I would like to fully update the dash with new style gauges and would like to add some sort of phat sacs(hidden hopefully) and some other trick things. BTW, HELLO ALL!!!

I want to throw a massive wake but in a very functional way. Very clean install is important. Some sort of ballast system/sac system or even a wedge. Would like to heavily update the dash along with lighting inside and outside the boat. All while trying not to break the bank.

Very cool boat!!! Wish I had one like that! lol! If you post anymore pix anytime - would be great if you could post them on the forum. People prefer that to links or thumbnails. Makes viewing simpler. Good luck on your boat!

Something that will really update the boat is new graphics. If you redo the upohlstery it will make that thing a new boat.

My Father-in-law had that exact same boat. I spent alot of years in it. We put the fat sack under the back seat. A wedge would be better so you wouldn't lose storage. as far as seating, thats all up to you and your imagination (and pocket book). The forward storage behind the passengers is a great place for your sub speaker. Low voltage led lighting could go inside the open side storage areas. Hows the teak holding up on the swim step ? Always my job to keep ours oiled up and looking good. I can see you adding tower speakers and lights, maybe do a vinyl wrap to update the looks, they can make any design you can come up with these days. Good luck,

I am in the process of doin the same, updating a older (89) boat. Maybe some of the things I am doing will help.

Updating all the gauges to newer looking white face. Little over $200 for all 9

Placing LED rope lights (amber color for me) up in the side rails of the boat so it will have a glow at night. Around $40 bucks for the 2 runs.

Updating the steering wheel with a newer looking wheel. Bought used for $25

I have also replaced all the old chrome vents and gas fill and vent along with the bow and stern light with more modern looking black pieces.

I assume you have already thoroughly checked for rot and also done a mechanical inspection on the boat before purchasing? If not I would start there.

You're gonna need at least 20 more speakers on that rack, dog.
