Hi guys ,I have this also posted in Johnson-evinrude.because i really need help fast.To get right to the point,I bought a 95 150 Rude ocean pro with a 20in shaft that I am putting on my 17ft Mako(yes I know its a little large) and have discovered that I need a 25inch shaft .I bought the 95 150 to replace my 82 115 Rude from a private individual so return is not an option.I bought the wrong size motor. What is involved in an extender kit ,labor and parts cost and is it recommended. The other post has more detail.Charlie

Is it possible to cut down the transom or is this a glass boat? if not I think it would be cheaper to go with the bolt on transom extenter like they use on bass boats for the big motors. Just a thought.

It is a glass boat and I surely dont want to modify the transom. There does not seem to be a clear cut answer.I may sell the motor I bought for it and start all over.Charlie
