After a tear down and replacing a piston, rings and seals I also rebuilt the carbs. The floats were set (I thought) very low. I set the floats to the specified (clymer manual) height. Still didnt get the hi end that I had before. I reset them a little and still not quite there. Compression is about 124 psi on all 3. I measured the float level from the carb body (not the brass jet) Then I did it again and measured from the brass jet. Still dont have the high end but it is a little bit better. I dont think that the timing can be adjusted on this motor. I set the throttle position sensor and it tests out ok. The bad piston suffered from a pre-det problem and had a hole in it. I am leary about leaning out the carbs too much. Any thoughts here, might I have missed something?
