More power needed

I have a 01' 150 ocean pro and I want more top end it max is 36 mph and want more what's a good way if possible to do it

Make sure that you are propped OK....if you need help with that there is a forum next door that specialises in prop issues.
Make sure that tilt/trim/motor height are all OK.

If that does not get you enough top end, you can always try a 200HP.

The props good it's great out the hole and pilling skiers it's on a 22'bay boat and I'm tired of 30mph cruising I would love a 200 but it's not in the cards right now so I was lookin and thinking cheaper HP

How do you know the prop is "good"? It may look perfect but is it right for your engine boat combo? Whats your WOT rpm's? Are they in the range recommended? On mine is 5500-5800 and I turn 5600+ WOT. But to get that I had to raise the engine up two holes and drop to a 15 inch prop. Its been great for a year or so. Previous owner had no clue. Check cav plate on motor and see if its an inch or so above bottom of boat. If not raise engine. I bet you can get some more speed out of her and increase the lifespan of your engine at the same time with a little tweeking.

I turn 5300 with a 4 blade prop for the hole shot and pulling the kids sking
I have a hyd jack plate and Ive moved this thing up and down till shes almost out the water the boat has a small tunnel on back as well whats the rev limiter set at on these motors

If 5300 is your maximum RPM with your average load you are somewhat over-propped. You would probably benefit from a lower pitch propeller if your setup is maximized.

Check that the A/V plate is no lower than the bottom of the planing surface of the boat; the A/V plate should be just above and parallel with the water when on plane. Scroll down to the pictures here: http://www.veradoclub.com/smf/index.php?topic=137.0

A top speed in the 30's may be all you get with 150 HP on your boat. Weight plays a big role in the equation, plus the design of the hull, and of course setup.

I agree - 5300 is too low. Get a prop that spins up in the 5600-5800 RPM and you'll get BETTER out of the hole grunt AND possibly better top speed!

I'm going to check to make sure my tach is right and see what I can do as far as a prop goes . I have one of those cheap stainless props that don't have the size on it so I'll find out what size it is and check back with y'all on a size to try. But I'd still like more power also

You really need to determine what you want. If you change from a 4 blade diredtly to a 3 blade you will get more speed, but you will loose power at low rpm meanig a slower hole shot
Once you already have the enginel it follows a formula of water speed, engine RPM, AND TORQUE.. iF one item goes up something else has to ballance out by going down.
Just try to remember that you almost never get something for nothing.
You wnat speed and torque for a good hole shot, then you need to spend what it takes for more HP. Talk to a knowledgeable prop person or call land ask to talk to an engineer at one of the prop mfgr.

No one has mentioned trim tabs...a prop shop could tell you your pitch..go to a 3 blade and drop 2-3 inches on your pitch..add trim tabs and make sure your jackplate is lifting high enough. you said you lift it till its almost out of the water..you should stop if you prop starts sucking air and reving higher with no speed increase. also do you have a 25" shaft motor or a 20". I think most bay boats are set up with 20" transoms..maybe you still have too much motor in the water even after trimming up. I like to get over 5500 rpms loaded at WOT. But if you want a noticeable difference I agree with the bigger motor idea..you should be able to sell your motor for about the same as a same year 200 or 225..make sure you know what to look for on a used motor or have a mechanic check it out.

You are in the rpm range as 5500 rpm is max on a 60? motor. If set-up is correct for that style hull and your usage and speed still suffers, going to a larger hp motor will be only option to increase speed.

boats kinda don't work like that, even another 20 hp would only get you maybe 2-4 mph and would cost a bunch to get and it probably wouldn't be as reliable if you could do it, they don't make alot of hop up parts for outboards.

As Faztbullet said, you need a bigger engine or lose a bunch of weight

Actually there are a lot of "hop up" parts for outboards. And a bunch of tricks to make em go.

Anyway, those bay boats with the tunnel will go as fast as they do rather easily but it's hard to get more. We work on a few of them and the tunnel keeps the hull stuck to the water pretty good. Tried all kinds of props and those hulls will only do so much. Yes, a ss prop is much better than an aluminum prop but there's not much need to spend a lot of $$ on a hi-tech prop, a good standard ss prop will work as good as anything.
