More Power?

I have a 79 thundercraft with a 4cyl 140hp with a merc outdrive. It is plenty fast enough for fishing but... Can I increase the power on it? If so possibly a 2bbl carb? Or is there another cheap way to do it? Familiar with hot rods, but the marine animal is foreign to me. Not saying I will do this, but if I do, what is the best bang for the buck on this thing. It is used just up in Canada and a quicker boat is always nice to get from one walleye spot to another.

There's nothing to find in that package, that'll Ever give you a seat of the pants power boost....
About all you can do is Destroy it's reliability....
