More small engine questions... what wires do what?

I'm pretty green at small engines.

Picked up a 10hp Vertical shaft briggs today, Electric start.. 220707 0641-01
Online documentation is pretty lacking.

What's the usual wiring on one of these fellers?

I've looked pretty hard on BS website and have found nothing.

The previous owner had cut some of the wires, not sure what should be hooked to what.

I hooked up ground, and then gave power to the starter post, turns over good.

But there are 2 smaller guage wires going to a plug, not sure what those are for.
And on the other side of the motor, a VERY small black wire is connected to ground, assume it's supposed to.

These are just some of the links I have on my website, for small engines. What kind of application/machine and brand machine is the motor going? Worste comes to worst post some pics. I have a few old junk mowers out back that I may be able to check and see if any of them are similar. Is the small black wire on the carburator side? If so it might be some kind of kill wire.

It's going to be used to power a 175amp alternator to be used on a home backup project I've got going.

Picked up a Leece Neville alternator pretty cheap (used on large trucks/busses/firetrucks)

red wire charges the batery, white wire runs lights
I just put an 11hp B&S on my push mower dont have to pull that da** rope no more

I know they have push mowers out there with electric start, we have a john deere push mower that's electric start only (no longer running was like that when we got it.) I could picture that power you'll have on the mower now lol. I have thought about doing something like that myself in the past but it was only a thought nothing more. What size deck does the push mower have? Just think how a 3 1/2HP flings a rock out, now think how that motor will fling a rock and what size rock it will fling/throw. I know you may of already considered the safety issues. Be careful with that machine rwise, you now have a miniature bush hog. Not downing the modification by any means.

It does have a bit more power than the 5hp did I live in the country anyway so if it tosses a rock What I can tell ya so far is it cuts anything I can push it on. Oh ya 20" deck it is an old *lazy boy* from the 50's (looks kinda like a yazoo). I wanted a 8hp, but I found the 11hp first and cheapest, traded a 3.5hp for it! I keep telling my oldest *it will even cut HER yard*
