JasonJ,

Thumbs up on your project boat. Really. Nice website too. It's done so well you'd think it was original :p

What are the specs of this boat? If the CC's 35 inches wide, how much room's left on the sides to maneuver?

I'm sure there're lots of other project boats on this forum that are nice too but I just haven't had the chance to view them all.

Nice work!!!!

The boat has a 7' beam, 16.5 foot length. I ended up with 16 inches on each side of console to inner surface of gunnels. I left out any side panels, so there is even more room at floor level. it is plenty of room to manuever if need be. I wanted protection for two behind the console if need be, that is why I went wide with the console.

Thanks for all your input! I got the boat yesterday, it is sitting at home with it's seats tore out, carpte tore out, and all the leaves and dirt vaccuumed out of it. I went nuts on it yesterday. I have made myself the goal of having it out in the water within 3 weeks. It is a demanding goal, but I think I can pull it off.

After looking into the prices of the telefelx systems and replacing the pulleys, it looks like a much better option to get the teleflex! The cable system seems like it will be very "feed-backish" on the water.

I took some pics, I'll put them in here and anyone who is interested can make fun of it, give advice on it, and whatever else!

I never experienced any feedback issues with the old pully cable rig, but my current boat, with Teleflex rack and pinion, does give a bit of feedback, but I don't mind. You'll be happier with the teleflex, more peace of mind. I was constantly checking cable clamps to make sure they were still tight. Good luck with the boat, hopefully you'll get some water time before the ick season sets in. I know it is sumer, but right now at my place it seems like fall. Its cool, rainy, everything it does in late September. Guess I better get the snow blower ready...
