Since its that time of year again,,,,, ( and to provide another thread where wise cracks can be added by those ?warm-weather-wosses? :D )

Ok run engine dry (by disconnecting/ turning off fuel line and running till engine dies), or leave the fuel/stabilizer stuff in the motor/carb?

I have not fogged the cylinder. Thinking I am getting away with out it because the fuel is still in the motor/cylinders/carb and that?s keeping everything lubed up. (This is more for a jet ski and O/B motor question, can?t disconnect the fuel line on my I/O).

So, to fog or not to fog, that is a question.

1st on multicarb motors, do not run dry, the reason the top carb runs out of gas first, thus leaving the higher cylinders without lubrication. stabilize your fuel, or seafoam, and run this in you last tank. some fog some don't. the other main thing is to change lower unit oil, before the first freeze, incase of water intrusion, and avoid a cracked gear case. also store motor in the running position, if at all possible, this allows the power head to drain all water. if you must tilt the motor, i would to cover the prop and lower unit, so snow does not collect there, melt and then freeze.

of course i don't do any of this, actually, had never heard of winterizing, until i was 40 years old.

Thanks TD for reminding us of the weather in FL.;)

I fog, simply because it's cheap insurance. Its a few bucks a can and running it through the carbs until the stall and fogging each cylinder is a quick and cheap way to do things and provides that little extra piece of mind.

Like was stated, some do, some don't, but for the extra few bucks and 5 mins, I do it.

"Woss", he says. Man I don't know about someone living in a place where you gotta spend an hour working (snow shovel) before you can even get to work!

And what's all this winterizing stuff?? :p

I love it when my biggest decisions, all year round revolve around the beach, the boat, the barbeque grill, and which roadster are we taking out tonight.

Hmmmm///think this picture was taken last February while wading..:D:D
