I believe I read somewhere that these were junk when made. Maybe that was a matter of someone's opinion. In any case this is what I have on my '76 Renken. I can't find a single source for this if it was to be bad. Is there something I can switch over to that would take its place without much trouble. Attached are some pictures.photo (41).jpgphoto (42).jpg

Re: Morse controls throttle handle

I have a Type I pre-Alpha Mercruiser 888 I/O. The engine is a Ford 302 188hp. Does that help answer your question? Sorry I wasn't specific enough. I know us new folks can be frustrating sometimes. I'll be the first to admit I don't know a lot about boat engines, outdrives, etc. but I'm trying to learn. Your link to the manual was very helpful and I appreciate it very much. What else could I add that would help?

Only because the control was used on the early omc stringer with electric shift.Any current production box will work.
