I Have 2 1995 Merc Black Max 200 On My Boat This Past Saturday I Put The Boat In The Water Both Motors Fired Up Fine When I Accelerate Both Motors The Boat Gets Up And Going Fine But Here Is The Problem When I Put The Motors Back In Nuetral And Put Only The Left Motor In Gear The Motor Starts To Bog Down Like It Has No Power The Boat Runs Fine With The Two Motors Once Its On A Plane I Can Shut Off The Good Motor And It Keeps Going Fine Like If There Is No Problem The Problem Only Happens When I Run That One Motor By Itself Heres All The Test I Have Done Spark Is Fine On All Cylinders Compression Is 125 On All Cylinders Cleaned Up The Carbs They Look Good No Varnish The Only Thing I Found Was In The Lower Carb The Vaccum Hose Was Clogged But Other Than That They Were Clean I Also Replaced All The Filters Any Help And Info I Can Get Would Be Great The Motor Starts Up Fine Revs Up Fine In And Out Of The Water The Problem Only Happens Under Load And In Gear

There are lots of possibilities. Some things you can do to narrow it down between fuel and ignition is to do the following:

1) Temporarily connect a portable tank directly to the motor to see if the problem goes away.​

2) Check for fuel starvation during the bog by following the Mercury Service Advisory at the following link. http://www.marinepartsman.com/Mercury-Marine-service-bulletins/Mercury-Mariner/2001/EN_17.PDF

3) Check for adequate spark during bog by using a SmartTach meter or timing light connected to the spark plug wires one at a time.​

4) Check for adequate primary voltage during bog by using a DVA meter.​
