Re: Motor Change

Easier (and cheaper) to find a donor boat with the engine in that you want, then just swap everything across...

if you are asking if the 165 flywheel cover will fit a 350, then - no, like in post #2

the easiest way to do what you want is to swap an entire 350 engine/drive package into your boat - from pulley to prop

you will probably have to add/remove material/motor mount areas in/from your bilge too

Find a 350 in a donor boat and you won't have to worry about what will and what will not fit. Just swap, as dubs said, pulley to prop....

Donor boats are not as easy to find in OZ as the US they do not lay around in paddocks for $100 as they do in the states

Hi Chris,I thought you were in Perth,I have a son who is at Ocean Reef,I lived at Scarborough for 4 years in the 60's.

It would appear after speaking with Engine Master Australia in Albury the 250 Flywheel cover can be used on a 2007 350,I do not want to change the gimbal and drive as I had it all out last Winter and it is now in mint cond and I have two complete drives 1.165 &1.184,and a heap of props from 17" to 21"
Thanks for all the help

I hope you mean 1.65:1 and 1.84:1, which are not the right ratio for a 350. The correct ratio for a 350 is 1.5:1. If it's a big heavy boat the 1.65:1 would be a good choice though...

I'm south of the river, and do most of my boating on the south side of Rottnest or travel north to the Abrolhos or Carnarvon....
