Motor Choice query

Looking to repower my 2004 Lund Alaskan 1600 Tiller. Currently have a 25 Bigfoot on it, and want to move up to a 50, which is the hulls max rating for a tiller.

One of my options is Yamaha, and a local Yamaha dealer is pushing the T50, rather than the F50, as he feels the ability to push a larger prop is a good idea. This advice seems to run counter to the common belief I've seen in my searches here. All things held equal, what would I notice as a difference between the F50 and the T50?

I mainly use the boat for fishing, but with a 4 y/o I can see that some tubing may be in my future as well.

Re: Motor Choice query

This may be a question better asked in the Yamaha outboard section. I myself have zero experience with Yamaha though my brother on the east coast says they're very popular out there.

Not sure the question is so manufacturer specific - Mercury has the bigfoot and regular lower units on their 50's also, so I'd think anyone with experience with those would be qualified to offer an opinion as well.
