motor cuts out and pisser stops working

Hello all. I have a 70hp force, not sure of the year? The motor will start with no problems. I let it run for about 3-5 mins before pulling out. Runs fine fully open for about 5 mins then cuts out. It will start again,but no water coming out of the pisser. try to pull away and it cuts out again. If I let the motor completely cool down again, it runs, pisser works. I had to limp it in last time out. any ideas were I should be looking first? thanks,chris

yes, put in a new water pump impeller. Back flush the system while you have it apart.

Pull your thermostat out also as it may be broken and blocking the flow.

As to the engine shutting off, that could be from alot of things. Has it been tuned up lately? New plugs? Comression checked?

We need more info.

Had the motor serviced in May. Was told the carb was cleaned, plugs changed, pisser was checked and working fine [it would seem when its cold or running at low rpm the pisser works fine!]??

Which makes me think that as it is heating up it gets a blockage. Take a look at the thermostat.
