Hi, I have a 25hp Merc...possibly an early 80's model 2 stroke. It has always run like a top. This year it will start no problem but when i attemp to put it in neutral it dies instantly?? I changed the spark plugs, cleaned the fuel strainer, added new fuel and still the problem exists?? Any ideas? Thanks

Might put some Sea Foam in the tank to clean up the system including combustion chamber. Additionally, it may be time to up your idle setting on your throttle linkage under the cowl. I noticed the same thing myself just recently but we are running some pretty high temps here now and that probably has something to do with fuel vaporizing....108F forcast for today and I'm in N. Texas. Don't know if I got it right because I haven't been out since I tweaked it. The book says 675 which to me is pretty low.

HTH,

Mark
