Currently on my boat I have an electrical harness that has the big red plug at the motor end and then the key ignition at the wheel. Problem is that 92 (TJ25ELENS) motor is dead and I am replacing it a rebuilt 71 (20R71S) that has electric start already installed. I have checked EVERY WHERE and no one has the harness from the motor to the ignition.

I am thinking that maybe I can take the wiring harness from the 92 motor and install it on the 71 with some modifications, and use the existing ignition harness that is on the boat.

The harness on the 71 motor is part number 0385157 the harness on the 92 is part number 584383, the existing ignition harness is part number 174961. (Pictures / Diagrams attached)

Any help on how to pull this off would be greatly appreciated.

Normally you would use matching cannon plug harnesses, but I see no reason you can't make your harness and modify it to make it work. Make sure you have enough wires in the harness to make all the connections.
