Depends on the area of the world in which it was run. Up here in the upper midwest if you averaged the use of every boat the number comes out to around 50 hours/season. Down south you can run a boat 12 months of the year so the number would likely be double that. And if an offshore user, it may be double that again. The generic answer however, is no -- 150 is in fact very low hours for a 1998 motor.

Thanks you very much for the info, I think I'm gonna pull the trigger and buy it depending on the compression test and looking at the lower unit oil. Ahh another question, what should it have for compression? I know all the cylinders need to be within 5% of each other but how many PSI did this motor have when new? Can you give me some sort of base line to compare to?
