I have a Tecumseh outboard single cyl that I would like to restore. I think its less than 5hp. I need to ID it and find a manual. the only number i found on a tag is 7773485. I have searched but cant find a match up

Tecumseh built Powerheads for a number of private label outboard motors.I don't believe they ever built a outboard of their own.Early powerheads use a split case,later ones a unit block.Various hp motors have similar repair and tuning procedures.The type numbers in the split case appear in a number of places;;The shroud,plate on the flywheel,plate on crankcase,stamped on crankcase,stamped on cylinder mount flange,stamped on pulley.Unit block has a tag on one of the reed plate mount screws.
An older after market service manual covering many brands under 30 hp will cover the Tecumseh power head as well as the various outboards the power head was used on.
