So i just rebuilt a chev 350, and replacing the 305 in my 1986 bayliner capri. I was setting the motor in the boat today when i learned that the stringers for the motor mounts are pretty rotted out. I know the correct way is to cut those out and put new ones in, I live in seattle wa and boating season is short around here. so my question is this: is there a cheater way to reinforce those stringers for the next 2 months and then do it right this fall?
