Boat is an '87 Starcraft 19 ft., powered by a 3.0 OMC Cobra. Was cleaning up an oil spill in the bilge today when I found that the front motor mount support is rotted. It's a block of wood that is glassed into stringers on each side of the bilge area that fasten to the transom. This block rests on another center stringer that is approx. 18" long, & 2" high. That stringer is solid as are the other 2 stringers. Problem is if I remove the block supporting the motor mount, there goes the support for the front of the engine. I don't want to pull the engine just to repair this support. Does anyone have an idea on how I can support the engine, so I can take care of this? I don't have access to a chain fall to hold the engine in place while I pull the rotted piece out & fabricate a new one. Anyone with any ideas how I can do this? Thanx.
