motor mount ?

I have an 85hp 1985 force, first time outboard owner... there are two rubber motor mounts next to power head and what looks like one up from prop. My ? is the lower rubber mount. if I pull back on the lower unit, looking up ,the rubber mount pulls away from metal plate. Is it just a rubber stop or has the rubber separated from mount??<br /><br />thank jazz!!

Lower unit and midsection should be securely bolted. If it is moving, something is loose.

jazz...can you take some pics and post them? <br /><br />Its hard to figure out which mounts or rubber pcs you're talking about. I have a 1987 85hp and just got done doing some lower unit, lower leg work. <br /><br />If you can post some pics, I can probably help.
