I have bought a 17 foot glasscon boat with a 110hp evinrude on the back. When the motor was mounted the motor mount was not all the way down on the transom.the motor mount is raised about two inches up from the transom.the motor mount is held with four bolts through the transom.is this all wright? Thanks again everyone.

Re: Motor mounting

Hi, Gcon.

If the AV plate is about level with the boat bottom that is fine.

Re: Motor mounting

i have to have mine in the 3rd hole to keep
anti-ventilation plate almost even with the bottom.
i think is due to the larger V6 housing i have, its about an inch longer than the V4.
-
but i had the same ?, i thought they were supoosed to fit flush.
-
the other thing is- even on ALL the new boats ive looked at (some high $$$$$$) with OB's, it has become a standard not to have the bracket flush against the back water side of the transom.
the bracket is resting on the transom trim and the gap is filled with what ever sealant is used on the mounting bolts.
-
that is wrong, go sea for yourself.
its ashame they mount them like that. the boat dealers will charge you to make it rite & flush.
