motor on muffs

will it hurt to run my motor on muffs in yard for 15 or 20 mins as long as i have good water flow coming from pee hole.i dot know if its bad for the motor or not.motor is a 40hp and is to big to put in 55 gal drum.

Not at all as long as it is getting water it doesn't care where it is and you can run it as long as want.
The thing to watch is that you don't rev it beyond 1500 rpm with no load on it.

should,nt hurt it PDL, just keep the revs down.nothin over just off idle is fine , at the same time i wouldnt walk away from it either

Aslong as your hose can keep up with the demand, and you have good water flow out the indicator, It should'nt be a problem. Remember, never go above idle on the hose.

thanks for all the good info i did not know you could not run above idle i've been doing some work on it and have had it on the muffs.i'm waitng on my papers from dnr so i can hit the water and try it out.

Also, caution if you have a bad water pump not operating as it should you could overheat, don't walk away from engine while running on muffs.
