motor or motor dont?

I'm looking to do crazy stuff cuz I'm bored but i do want it to work when done what do you all think of this swap, toss this AQ120B over board and in this 302 merc? the boat is 1980 glasply 18' with said Volvo. this is the link to the motor I'm thinking of seeing it seems to be a god price.

is a re gear needed when it comes with the out drive?

As long as you are planning on using the Merc outdrive and transom shield you stand a chance.
IF you are planning on keeping the Volvo drive and transom shield. FORGET IT.
First, you have to find a flywheel cover for the Volvo. They only used Ford engines with that type flywheel cover for 2 years.
Finding an exhaust system is your next problem. Not only do you need an exhaust Y for the transom shield, you need Volvo manifolds and risers to match up to the Y. PS: They are NLA from Volvo and none of the aftermarket places have them.
Then you run into the gear ratio. It's WAY wrong for the V8, and not even close enough to even try different props.

seems all the parts are there and at what i think is a great price from what Ive seen here in some threads so i think i will go for it! its just a bigger hole for the money right? lol

Ayuh,... If you're in Love with the hull,... Go for it,... Most of the pieces seem to be there...
