Motor rotation

My aircleaner on a 1996 4.3 liter states "Left hand" rotation. Is this standard rotation like a car motor or reverse? If you are looking at the motor from the front of the boat,it rotates clockwise. If you look at it rom the stern drive it rotates counter clockwise. Is this standard rotation?

Ayuh,....

Engine Rotation is identified at the PTO end.... Power Take Off,....
That would be the Flywheel end of a SBC....
