I have a 97 fourwinns fling with the omc V4 turbojet. I did not put fuel stablizer in it this winter. Now when I take it out it stalls after a minute of wot. I tried some carb cleaner, but it did not help.

I changed the fuel filter, that did not help.

New to boating, what is the water separator?

Yes, no problems idling or trolling (except I hate trolling), Its 30 second to a minute after I open the throttle past half.

Dhaaf, It sounds like a fuel restriction problem. When my boat does that I need to clean the fuel pickup screen in the tank. My screen is located in the top of the pickup tube. The pickup tube unscrews from the elbow, and the ss screen is visible. The new ethylenol-gas mixture we now have in NJ, caused this to happen this year.

Could also be a venting problem. Try running with the gas cap off. If it works ok, check for restrictions in your vent.

Re: motor shuts down when I start to plain

Just heard back from the shop
both head gaskets are leading, ( I will have shop replace them)
After reading on this great site, I asked the shop to do a carb job. They suggested that this boat has never had the carbs cleaned.

The enthenal gas is an interesting suggestion. This would be the first tank of blended gas I used. I will avoid it in the future. Only 2 of ten stations sell blended gas here in "Oil Country" (that Alberta, Canada for anyone who did not watch us lose our cup in hockey)

Got curious, and after a couple of minutes on google, found out the Flings were powers with outboard powerheads attached to jet drives.
Your best information on the engine itself is going to come from the outboard forum, not the IO forum.

You win, three little bugs in my check value. Too bad I did not find them until after I did the carbs,
:'(
