This one has me puzzled...I have a 2004 115hp 4stroke Yamaha, there have been countless times where I will be idling along and I will trim the engine while going over some shallow flats and the motor stalls. I've checked wiring, replaced key switch I've even replaced connectors and I still get the same thing happen. Anyone have any ideas?

Re: motor stalls while trimming engine..

check the total current draw at idle then hit the trim and check it, I suspect the trim is usuing the availible voltage and you lose spark and fuel. usually caused by poor connections or improper sized battery cables.
the yamaha current shunt is handy for that as is a multimeter and a voltage drop test on the cables.
that motor must have 12 volts for both the fuel system, the ignition system and the main relay.
