I have a 1999 Merc 25ELH. It seems to me that the water from the tell tale is too hot. Even at idle it seems awful warm (I've not checked the actual temp yet with a thermometer just by feel). Anyway, there is a steady flow of water coming out but it's just awful hot. I also noticed that it seems to want to die once you've been running it a while- stop - then take off again. It'll will idle fine but when you go to accelerate it dies. Once you get it going it runs fine.
Do you guys have any suggestions. Is there a temp range that the cooling water should be at?
