Motor Tune-up 70hp

Model VJ70ELEIE 1991 70 HP Johnson. Cylinder 1 117, Cylinder 2 115, Cylinder 3 117. Last November Rebuilt all the Carbs, after soaking in cleaner for several hours. Before putting away for winter ran stabilizer though gas and fogged the carbs. I also will synch the carbs. I want to go through the motor completely and check timing and electronics. I have the OMC service manual and just wondering if someone has a simpler way of timing this motor

Timing simply does not go out of adjustment on these motors.-----Does the tell tale hose come off the side of the block or has it been moved to the top ?

Off the side. I have a complete kit to change impeller and thermostat. In the kit it look like I have the mod to put on top. If I have it changed around sorry. Going off memory. Another note is last summer I replaced the power pack do to weak spark on one cylinder. Checked all coils and spark plug wires and checked fine. Last item is spark plugs and replaced with Champions.
