Hi guys,

Any truth to what I heard, which is when not in use, my engine should be trimmed all the way down?

Thanks guys, the guy who told me said that "johnsons and evinrudes" especially should be stored that way.

Now I imagine all O/B's are the same but I was curious, thanks.

Depends on whether or not you have a freeze potential. If so, down.

In the water, no freeze, I prefer up. It keeps the gunk off of the lower unit.

I just leave mine down. The gunk is off the lower unit and prop real quick after a full throttle run....

If your boat is on a trailer, you are better off with the motor down, just in case you forget to take out the transom plug and it rains a lot -- when your whole rig could make a nice upward swing. (This happened to my neighbor's pontoon boat two weeks ago.)

I like mine in a diagonal upside down position.
