need to know if there is a reccommended chemical to submerge my six cylinder 225 o/b should i use brake fluid mystery marvel diesel will any of these products eat the rust from the bearings and crank i was able to remove one piston and several of the connecting rod caps i even thought of pb power blast lube thanks for your help fishbite:confused:

Not sure about eating rust, but a 50-50 mix of acetone and atf works great at loosening stuff and is cheap.

Unfortunately, if there's rust/corrosion on the crank, cylinders etc, it's too late. Time for a new motor...

:DYup, the rust will score the cylinder walls, bearing journals and everything else. You'll never get compression my friend. Submerged engines need to be torn down immediately after pulling out of the water. Thus we leave snowmobiles in the lake until spring. :D
