motor won't fire, but ran good early in the day

I have an 1990 Evinrude 150 HP model te150sle and yesterday it fired up like normal, we had a short run and had no problems. Then when I went to go to the next spot some time later, I couldn't get it started. It did not fire at all. It cranked over easily, gas seamed to be delivered, tried choking it later and even giving it full throttle. It acted as if the kill switch was pulled. I removed and replaced the clip and same thing happened.

Could this be a fuse issue? This motor has a rebuilt powerhead and was serviced this spring and has been running great. I will check it for spark tomorrow but would like to have some other ideas.

make sure the shifter didnt get bumped slightly into gear. that will do it...

I checked that on the water, also definitely no spark, and powerpack is only about 5 years old.
