I have a 75 40 hp johnson that ran on 1 cylander until I replaced the cracked coil. after that it had fuel coming out of the front of the carb, which I rebuilt. now I can not get it to start. I have fuel, I have spark,(tested the hard way by holding a screwdriver and grounding while cranking) and it has compression. I am at my wits end and the local shop cant get tto it for a couple of weeks, any ideas are apprecieted

Yes, they do, I checked that someone told me that I need to syncronize the ignition, but I have not worked on an outboard since about 85

Re: motor won't run

It does have spark, just replaced plugs, took it to the shop today, hate to do it, but do not have time right now to play its silly game If anyone is not sure, do not rely on the SELOC manuals for pictures, used to be a helo mech, but even the best description is not very good without a good picture. THank you for the help, I will post what the final problem was, after I beat my head on the wall, because it probably is so simple I will feel like a fool
