Having switched from sailing to motorboating, I could use some guidance in regard to magazines dealing with recreational motor boating designed for the average guy. The fishing aspect would not be crucial. I happen to own a 16ft 90HP outboard runabout. Please advise. :) (SAIL magazine now seems to be writing for multi-millionaire yacht owners.)

Re: Motorboating Magazines

Boating, Trailer Boats, and Bass and Walleye Boats seem to have the best information. Go Boating is for the absolute beginner. For the DIY or techie type of person, B&WB has the best stories on How To, hop ups, and how things work. There are also regional magazines that offer a lot depending on your boating area. Talk to dealers and browse the newsstands.

Yeah, I really like that Bass & Walleye Boats Mag. The tech articles are the best and that's what I'm after... I used to like trailer boats, but they started leaning toward the big boats and less tech talk. Heartland Boating is a neat mag. if you like to see neat places to boat and some technical info thrown in.
