Re: Motorguide 24v mode doesn't work?
Hi Silvertip,
I am having 24v issues too.
I have a motorguide fw-fb, it has the 3 way switch on the motor for constant, 12, or 24.
Answering your questions from this initial post, I have 3 wires coming from the 2 batteries - 2 hot and one ground. They provide 12v and 24v coming out of the nema l5-30 power socket.
However, the connector from that socket to the foot pedal only has two wires - hot and ground. I get normal 12v operation, but anything on 24 volt seems to run at the same as 12v - level 5 (the rotator has 1 through 5 on it for speeds).
I tried moving one of the wires going from the socket to the foot pedal so it was connecting to the 24v plug in the socket - that gives poor results, everything seems really slow. I assumed that the three way switch in the foot pedal was providing 24 v, and then switching down from that source to 12 for the constant or 12v switch settings - guess that's not the case.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.
The difference between my set up and this other persons, is that I only have 2 wires going to the foot pedal, but three as he does at the power socket.
Thanks in advance!
