MotorGuide Great White Trolling Motor question

I have a 35lb thrust great white trolling motor and wondered if the only difference is the Zinc?? Is there actually something different with this motor or is that it? I am looking for another trolling motor and if its just the zinc, I can put that on any motor and save my money. Also does anyone know if the Minn Kota foot controlled models will work with my Motorguide gator mount?...Thanks in advance for any info...Warren

Many differences... The paint/coating is different, all the shafts on the great white series are stainless steel, and there may be more...<br /><br />That being said, I have a plain old regular motorguide with a stainless shaft that i use in saltwater.. After 5 years, it's beginning to show what the salt will do (needs paint)...<br /><br />Don't believe that the Minnkota will work with the gator mount.. Might work if you re-engineered it a little.
