Motorguide T34?

I have a transom mount trolling motor and only have 2 speeds forward and reverse, it's a 5 speed, and they seem to be the higher speeds. I had to lengthen the wires and put the control together correctly. Is there anything else that controls the speeds? Thanks.

Not familiar with your actual T34 trolling motor, but I have worked on some others. Some times there are separate (taped at different places) windings for the different speeds in the motor itself. So it is either in the switch selector for the different speeds or in the motor. You might also check to verify the wires going to the motor are connected. If you have a meter and know how to use it, you can check the switch to make sure all selections are working. And if that checks out good, then go into the motor section and check it and the wires along the way... JMHO!

Thanks, I have a wiring diagram but it doesn't show the motor only the control switch. If I knew what the color wires are tapped at I could troubleshoot the motor itself.
