I have a Blue Wave 180 classic with a rolled gunnel and it doesn't have enoughwidth in front to rmount a trolling motor, I had an aluminum bracket made but he mounted it on the deck and it is in the way of everything, can't open storage hatch and it takes up to much space. I need to figure out a way to mount on gunnel, anyone that can give me some close up pics of their motor mounted ona rolled gunnel bay boat would be great. If I could make a bracket or base that is a few inches wider than the gunnel then maybe I could angle it in a little to make it work. The gunnel is about 4 inches wide and it is about 3 feet before it turns straight and gets more narrow, motor is 50 inches so if I try to mount right along gunnel it hangs over more than a foot and that's no good. I have a motor guide great white motor and a Minn kota power drive. The Minn kota has a smaller braket.

Thanks, 5string in NC

Got the same problem with my Starcraft Bay Series 17. Tried a motor mount trolling motor for a season....ineffective. Mostly because I couldn't get into shallow water because the motor needs to be all the way down for the thing to work! Forget it in any wind. What was I thinking! Starcraft installed a plug-in for a trolling motor in the bow but how they expect you to mount a motor up there is beyond me! Let me know if you come up with an answer please.

Use the search feature in this forum. Someone found a bracket to solve your problem just a few days ago.

I used Minnekotas puck mount to fit on my bow. The guys at trollingmotors.net helped tremendously. Check them out.
