Is there a good-yet inexpensive- trolling motor bracket (or way to do it) that would allow me to mount a transom mount trolling motor, to the transom area or stern of my 14' Bayliner capri bowrider? the transom does not allow room next to my outboard for a clamp on type, and my budget doesn't allow for an expensive bow mount motor. maybe an outboard motor mount? what has anyone else done?

Re: Mounting a transom mount trolling motor

Check Iboats store for a kicker motor bracket, they are meant for a small gas outboard, but will work with a trolling motor. I use one on my I/O boat for a transom mount trolling motor. It was a bit sloppy and noisy (clicky) so I made a couple aluminum side plates for it that fixed it into position and make the mount rock solid, works great now. I picked up my bracket for $75 on clearance, they are probably double that retail.
