I have a 18.5 cc Sailfish that I want to mount a 55 lb. thrust trolling motor to. But I don't want to bolt it to the the boat. Will (5200 silcone) hold, If I put it down on the fiberglass and bolt the trolling motor to a borad. Then press the borad with the motor down on it, Do you think that this will hold
I just have no where to mount one on the bow, with my bow rails in the way. And very little room on the transom.

Re: Mounting a trolling motor

If you have an area big enough to glue a board down, why not bolt the board down.......and 5200 it....should be pretty solid.
Get creative.

Good luck

Re: Mounting a trolling motor

Thanks guys, The problem is, no where it bolt through and no where to clamp any thing to. Just can't get my hands between the sides to get to bolts, that would be on the top edge of the gunnels, I would have to cut a hole in the inside of the wall to get my hand in??? This is what I didn't want to do.
Thanks.......... RIDER1

You don't have to get your hands behind anything. That's what "well nuts" are used for. You drill a hole, push the well nut in and bolt down whatever it is you want to bolt down. The well nut expands and locks things solid.

Well nuts look like this:

?

Now that I got it mounted, I need to know what size fuse to use between the 12 vot battery and the trolling motor.
This is a 12 vot system?

50 amp (preferably an auto-reset circuit breaker) installed as close to the POS post of the battery as you can get.
