For whatever reason I am having a very tough time of this. I have a Morse shifter that is supposed to mount inside the boat. I have the shifter cable attached but cannot for the life of me figure out how to mount the throttle. If I go through the top( how it is mounted in pic) it contorts the cable. Any suggestions? I also saw the peiIMG_20211004_080055_986.jpgce in the last pic in my driveway. It doesn't seem to be made of the same stuff as the shifter but the hole is suspiciously cable sized.

Move the throttle and see what attachment point moves in the right direction. Mercury OBs push the throttle closed. J/E OBs push the throttle open. Not sure about Yammies.

Also, I have a similar (identical) control for 1998, so you may be able to get some info on the control from the OEM.

See my response in the other forum. Merc OB's push the throttle closed.

Def a pull situation. I just can't figure out how to route the top (throttle) cable. I know where the pin is supposed to go, it's just a question of how to get it there

That back slider piece with the 1332P marking looks to move forward when the throttle is advanced. Maybe the cable attaches to something near it?

Did you do some research on the OEM's website?

That control looks like the one on my '98 boat with a Johnnyrude. I would therefore expect the design to be pretty popular.
