I purchased myself a PT 130 by CMC right here off Iboats now my question is would it be better to mount this on the boat and then mount motor on or vise versa. Also what kind of affect will the six inch set back have on the boat.

Hey bubba.....

Generally it's easier to mount the PT to the boat first.

You can play with the height setting and trim for best performance. Might get 1 to 2 mph on top end out of it.

Re: mounting tnt

Bubba, I would mount the tnt first, then the outboard. Since it has a 6 inch setback, I think you will need the outboard 1/2 inch higher than it was originally on the transom. I saw it said on here the other day that a motor on a bracket must be 1 inch per foot of setback higher than original. I assume it has instructions, maybe they say for sure. I am thinking about the CMC unit if I can't find stock Merc parts to retrofit my 69 1250, can you post pics and progress as well as a report on performance?

Re: mounting tnt

I sure will jason and let you know what the out come is and thanks jim for your reply.
had to order that thing because the price wasn't going to get any better and got it right here so they shipped it real reasonable I think.
I am excited about getting it as for speed really don't mind that much just like the idea of power tilt and trim.
