I want to move my starting battery forward about 8 feet. There's enough cable from the original engine wiring harness to get me withing about withing 3 feet of where I want to be. I also have a battery selector swith where the positive lead on that is about 2 feet long. I've had no starting problems at all.
My question is if I shorten the original wire harness and add the needed length to the lead coming off the battery selector will I be okay? It would probably end up being 3 feet more wire in total, and I'd use the proper gauge.
The problem is the original positive and negative leads are a double cable stuck together.
How or where can I make a safe junction for the negative cable to lengthen it? Is there a way for the battery selector to also act as a junction for the negative cable as well as the positive? It's the common orange Perko switch.
Thanks
Chad
