Thanks for all the help guys! Our little 9.5 is running nice. Cold start on the first pull. Once warm it idles good. Goes in and out of forward, nuetral and reverse. I've been running it in a large rectangular tub and am able to run it in gear up to about half throttle with no problems.

so I called my brother and told him to bring the jon boat and trailer over and we'll take her for a ride. His response: "The bearings on the trailer are making a lot of noise. Can you take a look at it?"

Some day I hope to get that motor hung on a boat and in the water.

If it isn't one thing it's another. Goes with the territory I guess. Check the lights too.

Mike, you're absolutely right! we'd never let a little thing like wheel bearings spoil a fishing trip. It's always the more mundane things like work, wives........that get in the way.

Re: MQ12A success!

Well, got the bearings replaced. took her down to the ramp last night.

6 gallons of fuel, two oars, me 240lbs, my brother 190lbs on a 12 foot flat bottom jon boat. It got up on a plane and ran GREAT!

Thanks again for the help!

I need a new project. My marriage depends on it.
